What a wonderful event to help out with. I was able to interact with and support elementary students from John P. Freeman Optional School in their first steps into the lifelong journey that is STEM. Seeing those scholars thrive and move with purpose deeply impacted me and encouraged me to support youth in their motivations. I would love to come back next year!

I really enjoyed speaking with students at the Kroc Center! The students were engaged and got to learn about the profession. I would love to do it again!
I really enjoyed making the boxes of food to give to hungry families in Memphis. I would love to come back and work for them again! it was nice to see what a little bit of muscle work can do to feed over 30 families in one day. I hope that SNDA can donate food to them as well as help them make the boxes to feed families in need.
As someone who didn’t know the process of applying to schools as an child of immigrants parents, it has been gratifying and fulfilling to help students who have the academic rigor but lack of guidance in this academic sphere. I have enjoyed helping them learn more about dentistry and seeing how their insights about the profession has changed.
I enjoyed working with the pre-health high school students. We were able to teach them about the prerequisites for dental and dental hygiene schools. We also were able to give them tips on general application processes for grad school. They learned how to floss and about the extra oral exams we perform on patients.
I really enjoyed the first session of this semester's program. I hope that we can continue to impact high school students in the Memphis area and encourage them to grow professionally and potentially become the next generation of dentists!
Working with Spring Jam was a joy. I loved seeing different people from Memphis come together to create a fun vacation space for children who are unable to travel for Spring Break. I hope that their event is successful and more people volunteer to help them out!
