About
In the pursuit of our Food Justice pillar, WAWAC conducts bi-weekly distribution of culturally relevant foods to our community usually on every other Friday each month from 9 am - 7 pm. In previous grants, the food was packed, boxed, and delivered to us ready to be easily handed to families at our office location in Lynnwood. We have technically not been involved in the logistics arrangements to obtain the supplies for packing and getting the food ready to go. Now we purchase the food ourselves and handle all logistics, however we don't have the expertise for the logistic groundwork to implement. We are seeking volunteer (s) that would conduct research on what logistics supplies we need to package both perishable and non-perishable foods including meat, chicken, hot dogs, fish, frozen food, and regular groceries in ready to go containers to hand to families.
The food distribution and logistics manager will oversee the following.
- The Lumo West Africa-Bi-weekly culturally relevant food distribution
- Partnering with local African Grocery stores, store credit, vouchers
- Provide gift cards for regular grocery stores such as Winco,Walmart, and Costco
