The staff made me feel welcome. I have never been to an animal hospital before but the environment was filled with positive attitudes. The staff was very kind and informative to me. I never knew how much maintenance and effort is put behind assisting an animal hospital. Now that I do I really appreciate the staff’s duties and tasks. They do so much for the care of animals.

It was a life changing experience going to this event and talking to people with various backgrounds. I met people from all around the U.S.- Chicago, Oklahoma, Jackson, etc. I was enlightened on the everyday life of a homeless person in Memphis whether they have kids, boyfriends, or even new friends in the shelter. I never had an opportunity to talk to a person who is homeless or even learn about their story.
Cleaning the midtown area of Memphis was so new to me. I’m glad we were able to clean this environment because of the amount of trash left in bushes and streets. I actually met a new friend through this event who attends my school. It was so refreshing to meet someone in my age range who likes to volunteer as much as I do. Picking up trash brought so many diverse groups together just keeping MLK’s dream alive and I am pleased to say that I was a participant.
It was amazing to see how many citizens in Memphis came out to clean the city. The work ethic and caring nature that the organizers possess is truly inspiring. I was so engaged in this event that it was over before I knew it. Cleaning my city only gave me hope for a better tomorrow.
